We May Soon See The Images Of Rabindranath Tagore And APJ Abdul Kalam On Banknotes. As Of Now, Only Mahatma Gandhi's Watermark Is Used On Notes. But As Per Sources, RBI Is Planning To Include Tagore And Kalam's Watermark Figures In All Their Notes Except 2000, Whose Printing Has Already Stopped.

It may be noted that the Reserve Bank has the sole authority to issue banknotes in India. Reserve Bank, like other central banks the world over, changes the design of banknotes from time to time.
